Rocks, Minerals, and Erosion - Grade 4 - GTK Press
In this Unit, the students examine different types of rocks and minerals found in the Earth's crust. The students learn about their characteristics and properties. They also discover that rocks and minerals are useful for many things and that their characteristics help to determine their use.
Through an examination of the processes of erosion, transportation, and deposition, the students develop an understanding of the changing landscape and of the ways in which wind, water, and ice reshape it. The examination of these processes leads to an exploration of how humans can both prevent changes to the landscape and adapt to these changes.
